Power intensive industries

Data center, hydrogen production, battery production and fish farming on land based on full green and reasonable Norwegian power are obvious opportunities in the greater Stavanger region

To briefly illustrate what this is about. A large-scale data center will save nearly NOK 100 million a year just in the process of establishing itself in greater Stavanger region, compared to, for example, the UK. We have good access to green power at very competitive prices, compared to almost everybody else.

- A secondary area is power-intensive hydrogen production. You already have high expertise in energy and the demand for hydrogen is increasing - not least as a consequence of the focus on fuel cells in Asia and Japan.

Another area is battery production, which is also energy-intensive. Norway is the leader in marine technology and is already building electric ships.
